About Mageclash Io

Mageclash.io is a browser fantasy battler from developer Mattzap, built around fast wizard duels rather than long campaigns. You pick a mode, drop into a world with players, and start slinging spells to level up your mage and gear before someone else takes you out.

The game splits into three distinct modes rather than one shared arena. Classic is the core loop: fight monsters and players, collect loot, and climb in power. Monster Master shifts the focus to capturing, breeding and evolving pets to fight alongside you. Grix is the cooperative side of the game, sending a team of players after tougher monsters and bosses together, with unlockable classes along the way.

Controls

Controls vary slightly by mode. In Classic: WASD or arrow keys to move, mouse to aim, left-click to shoot, number keys 1-4 to select spells, Shift to sprint, and F to pick up items. In Monster Master: WASD or arrows to move, left-click to attack, right-click to command your pet, and 2 to throw capture nets. In Grix: WASD or arrows to move, E or F to interact, Q for emotes, and left-click, right-click or the 1-5 keys to cast spells.

Tips

  • Learn your spell keys for the mode you're in before engaging — fumbling between 1-4 mid-fight in Classic gets you killed fast.
  • In Monster Master, don't skip breeding for raw combat — a well-evolved pet often outperforms brute-forcing fights solo.
  • Grix is built for a group. Going in alone against its bosses is a losing fight; find allies first.

Best suited to players who like quick, skill-based PvP sessions but want the option to switch to something calmer with pets or co-op when they'd rather not duel players directly.

Mageclash Io FAQ

What's the difference between the three modes?
Classic is PvP wizard combat against monsters and other players, Monster Master is about capturing and breeding pets to fight for you, and Grix is a team-based mode against bosses.
What are the controls?
All modes use WASD or arrow keys to move. Classic adds mouse aim and number keys for spells, Monster Master uses left-click to attack and right-click to command pets, and Grix uses E/F to interact and left-click, right-click or 1-5 to cast spells.
Can I play solo?
Classic and Monster Master work fine solo, but Grix is built around a team taking on tough bosses together.
Is it playable on mobile?
It's a desktop browser game built around keyboard and mouse controls, so it plays best on a computer rather than a phone.
