Mk48.io drops you into a small gunboat on an open, shared ocean where every blip on the map is a real player. Sink rivals, dodge their torpedoes, and pick up the floating crates they leave behind to earn experience — the more you collect, the bigger and more dangerous a ship you can upgrade into.
A run starts fast and gets more tactical the longer you survive. Early on it's mostly about not getting caught in the open by something bigger. Once you've leveled up a few times you're choosing between whole different playstyles — a quick destroyer running torpedo runs, a submarine hiding beneath sonar range, or eventually a battleship or aircraft carrier throwing firepower from a distance — and losing a fight means starting back over from a small boat.
Controls
- WASD or the arrow keys — move your ship
- Mouse — aim
- Left click or Space — fire your selected weapon
- Number keys or scroll wheel — switch between weapon types
- Mouse wheel — zoom the map
Tips
- Sonar and radar are separate readouts — submarines usually stay invisible until sonar picks them up, so don't assume open water is empty just because it looks clear.
- Use the fleet panel to team up. A squad watching each 's backs survives a lot longer than a lone ship against players who've already leveled past you.
- Pick upgrades that match how you've actually been fighting rather than whichever option looks biggest — a destroyer, submarine, and carrier all lean on different weapon families.
It's a good fit for short, replayable sessions — each life is its own climb from small boat to (hopefully) something much bigger, and it runs straight in the browser tab with nothing to install.
