Rotate is a mind-bending puzzle platformer developed by Joshua Stone (Light Wolf Studios) that challenges your spatial awareness and timing. In this game, you control a simple character trying to navigate through a series of increasingly difficult maze-like levels. The twist? You do not just move the character—you can rotate the entire screen, causing gravity to shift and transforming walls into floors or ceiling tiles.
As the world spins, you must dodge lethal obstacles like stationary spikes, moving saw-blades, and bottomless pits. Success requires finding the perfect rhythm between running, jumping, and rotating the room to land safely on new platforms, press switches, and ultimately reach the exit door of each level.
Game Controls
- A / D or Left / Right Arrow: Walk left / right
- W, Spacebar, or Up Arrow: Jump
- Q: Rotate the room counter-clockwise (90 degrees)
- E: Rotate the room clockwise (90 degrees)
Survival Tips
- Look before you spin: Rotating the screen shifts gravity instantly. Before pressing Q or E, inspect the new "floor" to ensure you will not drop directly onto spikes or into a saw-blade.
- Master mid-air rotations: Some levels require you to rotate the screen while you are in the middle of a jump to clear large gaps or navigate tight corners. Practice jumping and immediately spinning the room.
- Utilize momentum: Your character carries momentum when falling. Shifting gravity at the right moment can help you slide into narrow passages or reach distant platforms that are otherwise inaccessible.
