Battle Golf turns a quiet, precision-based sport into a frantic arcade race. Whether you are playing solo to beat your high score or competing head-to-head on the same screen, the goal is always to sink the ball before the timer runs out or before your opponent beats you to it. The holes change after every successful putt, often appearing on islands or even the blowhole of a moving whale.
The mechanics are stripped down to pure timing. A single button controls your swing. First, you time your press to lock in the angle of your shot, and then you press again to set the power. In multiplayer, both players are shooting simultaneously at the same hole, leading to panicked mistimed shots and balls colliding in mid-air.
Controls
In two-player mode, players share the keyboard to race for the hole:
- Player 1: A (Tap once for angle, again for power)
- Player 2: L (Tap once for angle, again for power)
- Single Player: Spacebar or Left Mouse Button
Tips
- Don't Rush the Power: It is easy to panic in versus mode, but a bad angle guarantees a miss. Lock your angle carefully, then adjust power.
- Use the Rebound: The water hazards are unforgiving, but hitting the edge of the island can sometimes bounce a shot into the cup.
- Watch for Moving Holes: Some targets, like the whale, move slightly. Lead your shot to ensure it lands where the hole is going to be.
