Scrap Metal gives you a massive, open sandbox and a garage full of powerful cars to crash, jump, and destroy. There are no rules, timers, or race tracks to worry about—instead, you are completely free to build your own obstacle courses using the in-game inventory system. Spawn in massive ramps, loops, and barricades anywhere on the map, then grab a vehicle to test your driving skills against whatever you just built.
Every car handles differently, and the damage physics mean that hitting a wall at high speed will leave your vehicle crumpled and struggling to drive. You can choose from nimble sports cars, heavy off-roaders, and even a few surprise vehicles. Whenever you total your ride or want to try something new, you can instantly repair it or swap to a fresh vehicle and keep experimenting.
Controls
- Arrow Keys / WASD: Drive and steer
- Spacebar: Handbrake
- R: Repair vehicle
- 1-8: Change camera view
- I: Open inventory to spawn objects
- Shift: Use clutch
Tips
- Space out your ramps: If you place jumps too close together, you won't have enough room to build up the speed needed to clear them.
- Use the handbrake for drifting: High-speed cornering is much easier if you tap the spacebar to kick the back end out.
- Test different vehicles: The heavy truck can bash through obstacles without taking much damage, while the sports cars are better suited for massive loops.
