Tetris 99 transforms the classic puzzle game into an intense 99-player battle royale. Dropped into a grid with 98 competitors, your objective is to be the last player standing. Every time you clear lines, you send garbage blocks to opponents, filling up their screens and pushing them closer to the top. As the match progresses and players are eliminated, the speed ramps up drastically, turning a relaxed puzzle session into a frantic fight for survival.

The real depth comes from the targeting system, controlled with the right stick. You can choose to attack players who are targeting you, target those close to being knocked out, aim for those holding the most badges, or just fire at random. Earning badges by knocking out opponents increases your attack power, letting you send more garbage with every clear. Balancing offense and defense while keeping your board clean is key to claiming the top spot.

• Master T-Spins: A T-Spin double sends as much garbage as a Tetris (four lines), but requires fewer blocks to set up. Learning this technique is crucial for high-level play.
