Thumb Fighter Halloween takes the physics-based thumb-wrestling formula from AVix Games' Thumb Fighter series and dresses it in Halloween skins. Two thumbs face off in a tight ring: you raise your thumb, wait for the right instant, then strike down over your opponent's thumb while it's pointing up to pin it. Each pin chips away at a health bar, and draining the side's bar first wins the round.

Matches are short, usually decided within a round or two, which makes it a pick-up-and-play game rather than a long session one. Controls

Both players share the same device. Tap or click your side of the screen to raise your thumb, then tap again to strike down and pin your opponent's thumb if it's pointing up when the hit lands. The game responds to mouse, touch and gamepad input, so the exact input depends on what you're playing on.

• Don't mash — a strike only lands a pin if your opponent's thumb is up when you hit, so watch and wait for the opening.
